Hi, I’m Lewis. I have a degree in film and video production from the illustrious California Institute of the Arts. For the last 9 years I’ve been part of a small and mighty team producing, filming, and editing marketing videos for K12. I love building custom motion graphics templates and color grading, and I’m a pro at Final Cut, Apple Motion, and Photoshop.

SELF Overview Video

I used Final Cut Pro and Motion to showcase all of the incredible features of SELF – A private AI assistant, Email, Calendar, Storage, Wallet, and more. I wrote the script, crafted the voiceover, and made every animation in this video. Feel free to use my invite code “LewisC” when signing up!
2025 K12 Robotics Competition

K12 hosts a number of student competitions every year, and this is one that I was the lead video producer on. I planned the shoot, rented the gear, and with just one coworker ran 6 cameras to capture this event. I also created a number of edits, including social and organic cuts for this event. I’m most proud of designing and animating the HUD-style display for this overview edit, to clearly show viewers how the timing and scoring works.
Numeracy Masterclass

This 10-video series was designed to help teachers embrace new ways of thinking about math. I single-handedly did everything to turn this from a script into a video series. I filmed five different presenters remotely using Riverside, helping them set up green screens and web cameras and directed their performances. I spent dozens of hours combing through stock footage sites to find B-roll, and many times created my own images or videos when there was none to be found. I picked and composited the backgrounds, embraced AI tools to fix eye lines, created and animated every slide and icon, and did a herculean amount of effort on a series that would typically require a team of at least five people.
2024 K12 Marketing Highlight Reel

As our busy season wound down, I created a sizzle reel to showcase some of the amazing work of K12’s marketing team. While many of the highlights are from videos that I produced, filmed, or edited, I also feature many amazing works from my coworkers. While I utilized a number of templates from Envato, I also created many custom animations for this video, including how the website builds on, the assembly of the volcano ad, how each title animates in, and more.
Grades K–5 Online School Tour

I didn’t start this project, but I had to update nearly every element in it to get it across the finish line. It was fun diving into an agency’s After Effects compositions and learning new strategies for smoothing out my animations.
K12 Challenging Year Ads

I made this ad originally, and it was K12’s most successful ad in 2020-2021. It’s mostly stock footage, and then later iterations featured more and more K12 students.

Having only a few screen recordings and some basic brand guidelines, I created tons of custom graphics and animations and made this video from scratch in one weekend.
One Nice Thing

This is one of the first videos I edited, almost 20 years ago. I didn’t think much of it at the time (and paid no attention to the news or politics back then), but looking back on it, it was really special. It featured politicians who were famous then, who became more famous since then, and had a message which I wish could have resonated more back when the ideological divide was only that bad.

Outside of filming, I also take lots of photos, especially portraiture, candids, landscapes, even some corporate head shots. My favorite lenses are the 50mm 1.2 and the 70-200mm 2.8.
